Semitrailer Tire Technician
Description

We’re looking for a hardworking Semitrailer Tire Technician to support our service team by handling tire movement, derim work, and preparing tires for mechanics. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and essential to keeping our shop operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Move, organize, and stage semitrailer tires throughout the shop and yard.
  • Perform derim and exchange work, including removing old tires from rims and preparing new tire/rim assemblies using a Hunter tire machine.
  • Inspect tires and rims for damage before providing to mechanics.
  • Ensure mechanics have the correct tires, sizes, and assemblies needed for repair jobs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized tire area, including proper storage and labeling.
  • Assist with general shop support duties as assigned.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use proper lifting techniques and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Experience with commercial or semitrailer tires preferred; willing to train motivated candidates.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tire/rim tools and equipment.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to work efficiently.
  • Reliable, safety-minded, and able to work well with mechanics and service staff.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to perform a variety of physical activities in both indoor and outdoor environments. Employees in this position should expect:

  • Physical activity: Regular bending, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, and walking throughout the workday.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift, move, or carry items up to 75 lbs.
  • Environment: Work may take place indoors and outdoors, including in warehouse, shop, or yard settings.
  • Weather: Exposure to all weather conditions, such as heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind, as duties may require outdoor responsibilities.
  • Pace & mobility: Periods of repetitive motion, sustained physical effort, or moving between different work areas as needed.
