ITA’s current posting describes the trucking index’s rising! We will go over what they reported.
“The Illinois Trucking Index for the week of June 22 is 121.46, up from last week’s reading of 117.14, and slightly below the record high of 122.70 on June 15. This week marks the 5th consecutive week above 100, indicating a growing economy.”
It was reported that 61% of carriers mentioned their loads hauled last week were higher than the previous week, and no carriers were expecting a decrease in loads for the coming week.
They also mentioned that they asked carriers how their staffing levels were today, compared to their staffing levels in June 2019. 70% of carriers reported their June 2020 levels were flat compared to a year ago; 15% reported an increase, and only 15% report a decrease.
These numbers are very impressive! We are hopeful the trucking index will continue to rise!
