Friday Fun! Dekalb Corn Fest

Friday brings in the weekend, otherwise known as the start of a few relaxing days to spend however you please. Although we’re sure you have plenty of options for entertainment right at home, we recommend exploring the local areas around you. The City of DeKalb is just one of the many places in the area that stays brimming full of activities and historical culture. One of the many great things about DeKalb is the festivals that the city puts together, including the DeKalb Corn Fest with which many of you are already familiar.
Conveniently, DeKalb currently has three festival events coming up. The first is event is the Kishwaukee Fest, which runs from July 23rd to the 31st. The second event is DeKalb Corn Fest, running from August 26th-28th. Both of these activities do have fees associated with them.
The third event is most convenient for those on a budget because it is free of cost. This event is the 4th Street Family Fun Fest, which occurs on Tuesday July 26th from 4-6 pm. The Fun Fest is held in the parking lot of the DeKalb Education Center. Another free event to consider is held on Saturday, July 23rd. This is a free movie in the park! Held at Hopkins Park, the movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron, starts at dusk (approximately 8:45 pm).
If any of these events are too far out for your liking you may feel free to instead explore the charming atmosphere, the stores around the town, or visit the DeKalb website at for more upcoming events. Ultimately, DeKalb is full of entertaining options for the weekend including plenty of free events and fun filled family festivals (Say that three times fast!). ILoca sincerely wishes the happiest of weekends for our loyal customers. In the area for one of these festivals? Stop by our Aurora, IL headquarters while you’re at it!
