Fuel Prices

It’s Monday and at this time, ILoca would like to make another weekly fuel update for our customer convenience. Being able to properly budget your traveling expenses along with being aware of other important petroleum information is pertinent to having a successful relationship with transportation. The current average diesel prices in our specified locations are as follows.

The current average price for diesel in the United States currently comes in at an average price of $2.37 per gallon. This price is in the middle range of our state specific averages. Illinois comes in highest with an average price of $2.40 per gallon, followed by Wisconsin’s price of $2.34. Lastly, Iowa trails in with a price of $2.30 even. These numbers do not include data on alternative fuel sources, such as biodiesel. For more information on pricing and locations that offer these services, you may visit the AFDC website located in the sources below.

In other petroleum related news, crude oil is currently selling for $47.24 to a barrel. More information about refined oil and petroleum products in general is found on petroleum weekly. According to the EIA’s frequently updated weekly informative blog, petroleum weekly states “Information in the 2016 annual reports of 68 publicly-traded oil companies indicates that their aggregate proved reserves declined in 2016 for the second consecutive year. In addition, reported finding costs—which are exploration and development expenditures per barrel of proved reserves added—remain near their historical average.” We can expect minimal change to price as this occurs.

To conclude, the average national price for diesel in the United States stands at $2.37 per gallon. Also crude oil sells for $47.24. Oil reserves have declined for the second consecutive year while prices remain unchanged. We sincerely hope that this update has provided you with sufficient information to properly maintain transportation harmony during refueling and other important energy uses. As always, ILoca wishes you safe and happy travels during the workweek ahead.
